Why are industrial computer memory and motherboard incompatible?

 

In the components of industrial computers, memory occupies a very important position. It is mainly composed of memory chips, circuit boards and golden fingers, etc., which are used to temporarily store operational data in the CPU and data exchanged with external memory.

 

However, in the operation of the industrial computer, there may be incompatibility between the memory and the industrial board, and then a blue screen or a black screen may appear, which affects the normal use of the machine. If the industrial computer is incompatible with the industrial motherboard, what is the problem? How to deal with it?

 

Reasons for the incompatibility between industrial computer memory and motherboard:

 

1. The thickness of the used memory stick is not enough. When the memory is inserted into the memory slot, some small gaps will be left. If the industrial computer is in use, if there is vibration or dust falling into the chassis, it will easily cause poor memory contact and alarm.

 

2. The gold-plated surface of the gold finger of the memory stick is not qualified. As the use of industrial computer motherboards increases, the oxide layer on the surface of the gold finger thickens. When it accumulates to a certain level, it will cause poor memory contact, and a memory alarm will be issued at startup.

 

3. The quality of the memory slot is poor, causing the reeds and golden fingers inside to not touch well. After a period of use, the memory will not light up and an alarm will start.

 

4. With the same memory, some industrial motherboards can be used, and some industrial motherboards cannot start normally or often crash. This is a typical memory incompatibility.

 

Solutions for the incompatibility between industrial computer memory and motherboard:

 

First pull the memory stick out of the slot, wipe the golden finger eraser until it is clean, and then insert it into the memory slot (note: the whole process needs to be done carefully), and secondly, use hot melt glue (referring to plastic adhesive) to insert the memory slot The small gaps are filled well, so that you can prevent further oxidation of the memory. If the previous use is good and an alarm occurs suddenly, try to replace the memory bar first to see if the alarm still occurs later. After replacing the memory module in the third solution, if the memory alarm still appears, it is recommended to replace the motherboard.
