Why is the price of Industrial Motherboard higher than commercial motherboard?

Why is the price of the Industrial Motherboard higher than the commercial motherboard? The Industrial Motherboard is better than the commercial motherboard? I believe many users have this question, let us analyze the material and design of the motherboard components:

Commercial motherboard:

Commercial motherboards are faster because of their faster replacement and lower requirements for product stability and use environment. Therefore, the pursuit of product timeliness and market positioning of their own products requires only component selection requirements. It can meet the service life of the system for 2 to 3 years (most of them have been updated after 3 years), and the components of the components can be used at ordinary levels. For example, capacitors and commercial motherboards use a large number of common electrolytic capacitors. One is for the use of products in the commercial market, and the other is to reduce the cost of the motherboard.

Industrial Motherboard:

1) Components of Industrial Motherboard

Industrial Mainboard material selection will use long-term, high-demand verification components to ensure high reliability requirements under harsh conditions. For example, the components of the Industrial Motherboard need to adapt to a wide temperature environment (-20℃~ 60℃), such as solid capacitors, to ensure that in a harsh environment (permanent start-up during the lifetime, bad weather, humidity, vibration, dust, radiation, high temperature, etc. Etc.) Normal operation; motherboard components need to withstand high temperatures, moisture, and so on.

2) The capacitance of the Industrial Motherboard

The Industrial Motherboard,Mini ITX Motherboard,3.5inch Motherboard,Nano Itx Motherboard, adopts high-quality chip-type solid capacitors, tantalum and ceramic capacitors. Even if the electrolytic capacitors used, the quality, performance and life requirements are much higher than those of commercial products. Now the Industrial Motherboards are basically solid. Capacitors, especially medium and high-end Industrial Motherboards. Commercial motherboards are basically a large number of large electrolytic capacitors with stitch type, because large electrolytic capacitors have low cost and large capacitance, and can be used for multiple patches or capacitors. In nature, electrolytic capacitors are less stable than tantalum capacitors and ceramic capacitors, and their lifetime is not as long as they are. The high temperature resistance is not as good as they are. Chip capacitors are more stable than pin capacitors. In terms of price, tantalum capacitor is more expensive than ordinary electrolytic capacitor, and because tantalum capacitor has small capacitance, it needs to use a larger number of capacitors when used on the motherboard. The cost of tantalum capacitor alone is several times that of electrolytic capacitor. This is one of the reasons why the Industrial Motherboard is more expensive than the commercial motherboard.

3) PCB of Industrial Motherboard

Commercial motherboards use a 4-layer PCB design. The general PCB board is divided into four layers. The top and bottom two layers are signal layers. The middle two layers are the ground plane and the power plane. The ground and power layers are placed in the middle. The industrial motherboard adopts more than 6 layers of PCB circuit board design, which is designed to strengthen the motherboard's anti-electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic compatibility, and enhance the stability of the motherboard.

4) The life of the Industrial Motherboard

Different from the service life of commercial motherboards for 2 to 3 years, most Industrial Motherboards have a life expectancy of more than 3 years. Some high-quality Industrial Motherboards have a service life of 5-7 years.
